DEFINITION OF CHIROPRACTIC ORTHOPEDICS


Chiropractic Orthopedics shall be considered that branch of orthopedics, the purposes of which
are, by noncutting techniques, to prevent and correct deformities and to preserve and to
improve the functions of bones, muscles, joints and their nerve supply, when such function is
threatened or impaired by defects, lesions or disease.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COUNCIL ON CHIROPRACTIC ORTHOPEDICS
To promote the public health by assisting in the advancement of chiropractic as a science and
healing art.
To protect in every proper and reasonable way the professional welfare and interest of the
members of this Council.
To promote and maintain the highest standards of moral and ethical conduct.
To promote research in chiropractic orthopedics.
To encourage professional and ethical consultation with members of other professions.
To encourage the development of standard terminology in chiropractic orthopedics.
To cooperate with the American Chiropractic Association.
To disseminate to member of the Council, educational material related to chiropractic
orthopedics.
To encourage the teaching and study of chiropractic orthopedics at both the graduate and
postgraduate levels.
To sponsor and promote seminars in all phases of chiropractic orthopedics.
To develop and improve in the members of this Council the ability to serve as an expert witness
in the field of chiropractic orthopedics.
To make known to A.C.A. members the availability of ethical consultation from members of this
council.
